The winner of the best innovation idea contest European IF…Lab is Me Architect You project „CH4 cloud“

Yesterday, on September 22, the winners of the best innovation idea contest IF…Lab, which was organised in six cities, were chosen.

Lithuanian team Me Architect You project „CH4 cloud“ received the first prize. The second prize was awarded to Portugal’s team ricoxete.com project „Termic pillow“. Estonian Artur Rusin got the third place with a project called „Leilivihmuti“. On Facebook, people chose idea „Inflatable work of art with a smile“from Belgium as their favourite idea.

„In a local competition in Lithuania we got the third place, so the first place in an international
competition came to us as a really nice surprise,“ commented on their victory members of Me
Architect You project team. „We were surprised by ourselves as well how chemistry works, but
technology is unfortunately ready for it so that putting the idea into practice needs to wait,“ added the
team members regarding making the product out of the idea.

„The winner was clear to us after seeing the posters. After hearing and seeing the presentation our
decision got reconfirmed, “explained the decision making process a member of jury Josyane Franc
from France. „But it was much more difficult to decide which idea receives a second and a third place“
admitted Josyane and referred to a fact that the work of jury was not that easy at all.

“In our everyday work, we are closely involved with the world’s most innovative brand and we can
see how design and innovation can change people’s lives. That is why we would like to contribute
to developing design and innovation in Estonia and accepted the invitation to sponsor Design Night
festival and the best innovation idea contest IF...Lab,” said Jaanus Treilmann, the executive manager
of IMArvutid.

The prizes for the winners were contributed by IMArvutid. The first prize was an iPad 2, the runner-
up received a Fireant FA-004 iPod speaker and the third place was awarded with an iPod nano. The
people behind the idea which was voted to be the best on Facebook received an iPod touch.

Yesterday, the 3-5 finalists which were chosen in the six participating cities by the local jury were
presented to the audience as a part of IF…Innovation Festival and VI Design Night, The winner of
the best innovation idea contest IF…Lab was chosen by an international jury which consisted of
Sanna Simola (Finland), Josyane Franc (France) and Severin Filek (Austria).

The nominees of the best innovation contest IF…Lab, which was organised in 6 cities, are exhibited
at the exhibition “IMArvutid presents: IF…Lab Best Innovation Idea“ which is opened in the Nokia
lounge on the ground floor of the mall in the Rotermann quarter during September 19-25.

European Innovation Festival IF… and Design Night festival take place on September 16-25 in Tallinn. Within the span of 2 years, 6 cities organize the Innovation Festival – Barcelona, Milan, Kortrijk, Lisbon, Vilnius and Tallinn. These festivals emphasize innovation and user-friendly design, social inclusion, mobility, environmental awareness and the influence of technology on everyday life.

The programme of the sixth design festival is broad as is to be expected from a European Capital of Culture. The programme includes International design exhibitions, contests, different conferences, workshops, Design Auction, Pecha Kucha, Design Nightclub which is meant for networking, fashion shows and much more.
